So I set out the plans for the One Room Challenge, and now it's time to put it in motion. My thoughts for my serene Master bedroom consists of first tackling painting. Which I HATE. It's not very high on my list of fun stuff to do, but in order for this space to truly transform, I've got to change up the color on the walls and the ceiling.
Here is a before picture of the color of my half circle. I loved this color but I was looking for a sunset vibe. I was also looking to add flush mount lighting instead of lamps so it would have a of a cleaner look to the space.
Here's another view of the golden circle. I used Behr paint in Saffron Strands. It reminds me of those beautiful sunsets I used to see when I was living in my home state of California. My inspiration is taken from seeing mounds of sandy beaches (which will be the headboard) and the sun peeking over the top. Can you picture it??
Next came painting the ceiling. This is not for the weary, believe me! I was up there! Whew!! But it's done and I couldn't be happier. I used Behr Red Curry to create the perfect balance between the two colors. I added these wall mounted light fixtures (which I had to paint) and new ceiling lighting (which I'll talk about on a later post) It's slowly coming together and the future is looking pretty darn good if I say so myself!!
Next week it's all about repurposing items I already have in this space but giving them a makeover. Wish me luck on that!! Ha! I'm so grateful to the One Room Challenge, Better Homes&Garden (media sponsor) and all the other guest participants. It really is a great feeling to be able to motivate and inspire each other to create something new and exciting in their homes. make sure to follow along to see what creative things are up their sleeves.
Until next time,
