Week 4! Can you believe it? Personally I can't believe how fast it's going by and I'm still not completed with the main part of this Master Bedroom makeover which is- THE BED!!!!! But this weekend we plan on knocking it out, putting it up and mounting the headboard. Easy peasy, right?? NOT!
The platform bed is actually quite easy to assemble, it's the headboard that might be tricky but I'm up for a good challenge. I've already stained the wood frame pieces in Varathane Wood stain in Carrington and I must say that it's going to be fantastic!
Here's a snippet of things I've completed so far for my bedroom makeover. I absolutely LOVE how my side tables turned out! I added caning in the center (remember last week I removed all the wicker from the insides) and I darkened them up by using Rust-Oleum Spray Paint in Espresso. I added some vintage brass handles and now it totally looks like a new nightstand!
Another snippet of a completed project is this bench. I covered it using a piece of beautiful Kantha cloth and stained the legs in the same color as the platform bed. The goal is to use the same color wood throughout the entire space as much as possible. Now to figure out where this rug looks the best in this space. I'm sure it'll come to me in the end.
And finally, the last snippet of what I've been able to complete in this space is hanging all the curtains, all of the painting and mounting the light fixture. This beautiful ceiling mount lighting from Crystorama is the perfect modern touch to complete my serene bedroom makeover.
This One Room Challenge has definitely been eye opening as to what I've been able to achieve by myself and I'm sure all of the guest participants feel the same way. Make you check them all out to include the amazing featured designers as they create amazing spaces as well.
Until next time,
